Grace Lee provides in-house counsel on legal affairs for the firm and its portfolio companies, with an emphasis on supporting the firm’s data privacy compliance efforts and human resources and marketing teams. Prior to joining Platinum in 2020, Ms. Lee was Associate General Counsel at Incora (formerly Wesco Aircraft). Before Incora, she spent four years in the mergers and acquisitions group of Latham & Watkins. Ms. Lee holds a BA in Business Administration and Information Systems from the University of Washington, an MSc in Analysis, Design, and Management of Information Systems from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a JD from the University of Chicago Law School.
Along with Mr. Gores, Mr. Lopez has led the deal teams on many of Platinum's major transactions, including negotiations with the Illinois insurance regulators to acquire Broadspire Insurance Services, working directly with Alcatel's former President to produce Platinum's first European acquisition which later became NextiraOne, as well as negotiating with BASF and Deutsche Bank to acquire Dystar from three of Germany's most significant chemical companies (Bayer, BASF, and Aventis Hoechst). In addition, Mr. Lopez has worked as one of Platinum's transaction ambassadors throughout the European continent where he and other senior Platinum executives introduced the Platinum business model in late 2001.
Matthew Louie is responsible for the structuring and execution of acquisition and divestiture transactions. He also has responsibilities related to post-acquisition monitoring and oversight of operational performance at certain portfolio companies. Prior to joining Platinum Equity in 2008, Mr. Louie was an investment professional at American Capital Strategies, a middle-market focused private equity firm. Prior to American Capital, Mr. Louie worked in venture capital and growth equity at both Canaan Partners and Agilent Technologies, as well as in investment banking at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette
Daniel Madden is based in London and leads the Portfolio Operations team in Europe. He has worked for Platinum Equity and its Portfolio Companies since 2010, including Exterion Media, Pattonair, WFS, WVREU and Vertiv. Prior to joining Platinum Equity Mr. Madden worked at Marakon Associates in London and New York. Mr. Madden holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Cambridge and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Columbia University.
Aaron Mazzolini is responsible for the structuring and execution of divestiture transactions as part of Platinum Equity’s dedicated sell-side team. Prior to joining Platinum in 2002, Mr. Mazzolini was an executive at Paradigm Talent and Literary Agency where he managed transactions on behalf of the firm. Mr. Mazzolini holds an undergraduate degree from Ohio University.
Scott McCarthy is responsible for financial due diligence and supports the structuring and execution of acquisition and divestiture transactions. As a member of the operating council for certain portfolio companies, he also has responsibilities related to post-acquisition monitoring and oversight of financial performance. Prior to joining Platinum in 2001, he spent seven years with Ernst & Young’s Transaction Support and Audit groups. Mr. McCarthy received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame.
Katie Hulgrave McNaughton leads Platinum Equity’s corporate marketing function, inclusive of brand, campaigns, design, digital and events. Ms. McNaughton joined Platinum Equity in 2013. She previously held positions at HP and in the Worldwide Marcom group at Apple. She began her career at Deutsch working on accounts such as Coors Light, Old Navy, and Mitsubishi. Ms. McNaughton holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from the Honors College at Michigan State University and a Master’s of Science from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
Phil Norment is a member of Platinum's Investment Committee and is a senior advisor on specific operational initiatives throughout the portfolio. He is also the senior executive responsible for evaluating acquisition opportunities and integrating new acquisitions into the portfolio. Prior to joining Platinum Equity in 1997, Mr. Norment served in a variety of management positions at a major software corporation. Over the course of twelve years he worked in the areas of global support, operations, consultative services and sales support, achieving the position of Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Norment earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Bill Nowicke is responsible for managing the transition of newly acquired companies into Platinum Equity’s portfolio. He also has responsibilities related to post-transition monitoring and oversight of operational performance at certain portfolio companies. Prior to joining Platinum Equity, Mr. Nowicke held roles at Chrysler, AlixPartners, and Agility. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Oakland University, a Master’s in Systems Engineering from Oakland University and a Master of Business Administration from University of Michigan.
Ardeshir Pahlabod is a member of the Investor Relations team and is responsible for global functions connected to capital raising, fund administration and investor relations. Prior to joining Platinum Equity in 2015, Mr. Pahlabod worked at UBS Investment Bank and Nomura. Mr. Pahlabod holds a Bachelor of Arts in Japanese from the School of Oriental and African Studies and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
